Massage Coolum Beach.

Coolum Beach is the closest coastal suburb to my Valdora clinic, which makes it the strongest local-client patch on the page. Mobile to homes across Coolum, holiday rentals near the beach, or a quick 12-minute drive up to the clinic itself.

What I offer

Massage in Coolum Beach.

Coolum Beach is essentially my home patch. The clinic is 10km up the David Low Way, and a meaningful portion of my regular client base lives within a couple of streets of the beach.

The work I do for Coolum clients runs the full mix: locals on a regular fortnightly or monthly rhythm, weekenders staying in holiday rentals near the Surf Club, the active outdoor crowd (Mt Coolum hikers, surfers, runners) booking sports-focused remedial, and families in the residential streets behind the beach.

Remedial massage Coolum clients claim through extras is the most-booked service, with Kahuna second, particularly for quieter weekday hours when locals slip out for a longer session.

ii.
The suburb

About Coolum Beach.

Coolum sits mid-coast on the Sunshine Coast, between Mudjimba and Peregian Beach. Less polished than Noosa, less commercial than Maroochydore, with a strong outdoor lifestyle defined by the patrolled beach and the iconic hill behind it.

Mount Coolum rises 208 metres directly behind the suburb, one of the most recognisable landmarks on the Coast and the most-walked single track in the region. The summit climb is a short, steep slog (one hour return for most people) that brings hundreds of locals and visitors out every weekend. Coolum Beach itself runs north from the Coolum headland up to Marcoola, with the Surf Life Saving Club anchoring the patrolled section in front of Tickle Park.

The Coolum town centre runs along Birtwill Street, with the cafes, surf shops, and the Coolum Beach Hotel anchoring the main strip. David Low Way threads through the suburb as the spine connecting Coolum to Marcoola in the south and Peregian in the north. Stumers Creek runs to the beach at the northern end, and Yaroomba sits just south with the Mt Coolum Golf Club beyond.

Services in Coolum Beach

All three core services available locally.

Remedial massage

Assessment-led work for pain, postural issues, and the outdoor injuries that come with Coolum's active lifestyle. Surfer shoulders and Mt Coolum knee complaints are common bookings. Health fund rebatable.

Kahuna bodywork

Hawaiian-lineage flowing bodywork. Heavily booked by Coolum locals who've come to know the work through years of word-of-mouth. Suits the unhurried, outdoor-lifestyle pace of the suburb. Not rebatable.

Mobile to your door

Mobile massage Coolum bookings are some of the most efficient ones I do, given the short drive. Full kit to your Coolum home, beachside holiday rental, or accommodation around the Surf Club.

Travel from Valdora

Mobile to Coolum Beach.

The shortest trip in my entire mobile service area. 10km via the David Low Way, around 12 minutes most days. Coolum addresses get priority for same-day and short-notice bookings simply because the logistics work.

The closest patch.

Coolum Beach covers a fair stretch: the streets behind the Surf Club, the residential blocks running back from Birtwill Street, the holiday accommodation near Tickle Park, and the newer developments out toward Mt Coolum and Yaroomba. All addresses covered at the same rate.

For Coolum clients, short-notice bookings are easier here than anywhere else. If a same-day slot opens, Coolum is the first patch I check.

Two ways to book

Where I work in Coolum Beach.

Two options for Coolum clients: mobile to your home or holiday rental (genuinely a short trip for me), or in-clinic at Valdora (a 12-minute drive north).

Mobile across Coolum Beach

Beachside holiday rentals near the Surf Club, residential streets behind Birtwill Street, family homes around Stumers Creek, accommodation along the David Low Way, and the Yaroomba area down toward the golf course all covered. Mobile is the popular choice for Coolum locals on weekends.

In-clinic at Valdora

92 Thomson Valley Road, Valdora. Just a 12-minute drive north up the David Low Way. The closest in-clinic option for any Sunshine Coast suburb. Off-street parking, quiet country setting. Many Coolum regulars prefer this because the drive feels like part of the same patch.

vi.
Health fund eligible

Coolum Beach health fund rebates.

Most Coolum clients with private health extras claim remedial sessions through their fund. Worth understanding the process for ongoing local bookings.

In short

Most extras covers include remedial massage. The session needs to be a remedial session (not Kahuna or relaxation) for the rebate to apply.

I'm ANTA-registered with a Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52015). Most private health funds (Bupa, Medibank, NIB, HCF, AHM, HBF and others) include remedial in their extras list. Rebates typically range from $40 to $90 per session depending on your fund. Currently no HICAPS, so payment is upfront and you submit the receipt afterwards. Only the session fee is claimable, not the mobile surcharge. Full rebate details.

Common questions

Coolum Beach FAQ.

Do you have a clinic in Coolum Beach?

No, the clinic is at 92 Thomson Valley Road, Valdora, just 10km north of Coolum Beach via the David Low Way. Most Coolum clients use the clinic option because the drive is short and the setting is quieter than the busy Esplanade area. Mobile sessions are equally easy here, given Coolum is the closest suburb to my base, so the trip is barely 12 minutes door to door.

How much is the travel surcharge to Coolum Beach?

Coolum Beach sits 10km from my Valdora base, comfortably inside the standard zone. The mobile surcharge runs $10 to $15 on top of the session rate, the same as for closer suburbs. Coolum is one of the most efficient mobile bookings I do, given the short drive in both directions, which is one of the reasons it's a strong local-client suburb.

Can I claim my Coolum Beach session through my health fund?

Yes, when the session is remedial massage. I'm ANTA-registered (HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage), which most private health funds accept under their extras cover for remedial. Rebates typically run $40 to $90 per session depending on your fund and level of cover. Currently no HICAPS, so payment is upfront and you submit the receipt afterwards. Only the session fee itself is claimable, not the mobile surcharge. See the dedicated rebates page.
